I have a MW appt!

Some of you may remember my post the other day about getting the run-around from my MW office (they weren't going to see me until a new MW arrived in October - hello, I'm 12 wks already and haven't seen anyone). So after suggesting I just go to my GP in the meantime and then making a big stink when I said my GP doesnt to obstetrics or prenatals and nevertheless, I want to see a MW, not a Dr., they finally have me seeing someone on Sept. 13. I'll be 15 wks, which is a bit later than I'd like, but hey, at least it's not October.

You can bet I'll be making a complaint about this in my feedback form (if not directly to the health region). I called at around 6 wks to make an appt, they made me come to an info session before they'd book anything, the info session was five wks away, and then after that they can't get me in for another 5 or 6 wks? Why couldn't they have tentatively booked me in when I first called, if they're booking that far in advance?

    Yay! I'm glad they agreed to see you even if it is a little late!

    That really sucks that you were given the run around....in my area it is the opposite....your doc gives you the run-around and the MW are awesome!

    Sorry your experience hasn't been great off the start, but hopefully it will get better!

    I'm sure it will be better from here on out. I'm actually looking forward to getting the new MW in Oct. bc I won't be prejudiced about her from this experience (I'm already not liking the other midwives - even if it was the office lady that was a pain).

    I'm glad you got in!  Hopefully all the bumps in the road are behind you now and the rest is smooth sailing!

    I think my second mw appt is the same day! I'm so glad that you were able to get in earlier! Your first appointment will probably be the same as mine since I see that you're in Canada too. We just filled out an antenatal form which is mostly just family history stuff, then I had to pee in a cup, weigh myself, then they tried to listen to the hb with a doppler (but it was too early for me).
