I would really like to give my DH a gift after our son decides to make his grand appearance, but I am really at a loss as to what to get him...are any of you getting your DHs a gift of appreciation for all the support they have offered throughout your pregnancy???
Re: Who is getting their DH a gift???
I was thinking about picking up a few nice cigars. I did the same thing as part of his wedding gift so I thought it would be a nice tradition to start for all of the "big" events in our life together.
DH is getting another son and 2 weeks paternity leave from work.
He's pretty happy with that.
I bought my SO a t shirt that he will love. I thought about getting him a "dad" shirt or something, but I found one that is perfect for him, that he can wear whenever/wherever, and he will for sure laugh!!
I DO think I will get a card and write something for him to say how much I love him and how absolutely wonderful he has been throughout my pregnancy, otherwise, Im glad you posted this question cuz I am always open to ideas!!
LOL! This, But I don't expect anything from him, either.
With DS I got him a new ipod with "I love you daddy! from Bailey" since his ipod bit the dust weeks before DS came.
This time my c-section is 3 days before his birthday so I'm getting him one big gift of new golf clubs. He's been wanting them for a while but refuses to buy them for himself so I'm taking him the week before to make him buy some.
Too funny! I'm getting DH a Yankees diaper bag. Great minds...
What Are Your Thoughts on Tap Dancing Penguins?
This exactly. Our first DD was born the day before our anniversary, and when we woke up that morning and said "Happy Anniversary" he asked "Did you get me a gift?" (jokingly) and my response was "She's down the hall in the nursery."
On the flip side, I don't expect a gift, either. My gift to him is carrying his daughter for 9 months and dealing with m/s, GD, lack of sleep, you name it. His "gift" to me is a big, gooey, yummy pizza for after I deliver.
LOVE IT!
I may also include a coupon for [cue Danny DeVito's character, Frank (Always Sunny in Philadelphia)]: One Free Bang, redeemable approximately 6-weeks from the delivery of said original Gift.
Holy shiit, girl, that was graphic! LMFAO!
But...I agree. I'm growing his child, who happens to be kicking the crap out of me and does jumping jacks 24/7. His pressie is the fact that I have yet to send him out on a midnight run to Taco Hell, don't wake him up when I'm awake at night, haven't given him too many hormonal tantrums, never had m/s or nausea, etc. Those are his pressies.
And a healthy baby who likes to kick my bladder when it's full.
That is freaking hilarious! And, I agree! Yes, DH has been awesome, but that is in return for all the s%*t that I have gone through to grow a healthy human! And, yes, I do expect a push present - I am hoping to get my Kate Spade diaper bag any day!
He did get a video camera, but that was kind of sneaky because it is for both of us!
