3rd Trimester

Everyone around me is loosing weight ventish

So DH's ex wife came to town last week.  She is super skinny now, and looks really great.  She was never that thin - ever!  Ugh, it seems like all of my friends have done the summer slimdown.  And then here comes Shamu (me).  DH tells me 'hello your pregnant silly'.  It's hard not to be a pinch jealous.  Anyone else a little annoyed with this?

  • The next person who tells me, "You're not fat, you're pregnant" is getting roundhouse kicked in the head.

  • Yep.  Everyone sure looks slimmer to me because I'm so round.  I also have this horrible cellulite on my butt.  I don't know where it came from...but it better go away after the baby!  I can't wait to start running again.

But it is hard to look at skinny bodies and know there is nothing you can do.  It does help when hubby reminds me that I'm pregnant and he finds me sexy :)

  • I went to dinner last night with 4 friends.

One had gastric bypass last summer. Skinny.

    One is just skinny.Naturally.B!tch.

One announces she is getting lap band done.

The other announces she just had her appointment with her doctor and is getting gastric bypass.

And then there was me. 7 1/2 months pregnant (not fat hahahaha).

    Awesome.

  • Yes, I'm dying to begin my usual yoga and exercise routine again, and it's hard seeing all of the cute fall clothes when I have no clue what will work for my body for the next few months!

    Why I oughta . . . Wink

  • When I first got pregnant, I was heavier than I had been in a long time. In fact - since I had implantation spotting that made me think I had started AF- I had just decided to train and run a half marathon with my husband and some friends. The training would have been short enough (since I was already a runner) that if I had gotten pregnant the following month, it would not have been far enough along to worry me.

Found out I was PG three days later. Needless to say half marathon was out.

Was thrilled, but as the weeks went by I did have twinges of jealousy that everyone else was losing weight and getting in shape and I was only going to get "fatter".

It passed, but it was frustrating for awhile.

  • Glad you girls feel the same way I do! I cannot wait to get back to my pre pregnant size...I miss my skinny jeans and cute skirts!
  • Me! Everyone around me has decided to start some kind of weight loss program and it really bums me since I was doing weight watchers and was at a 37 pound weight loss and still going right up until I found out I was pregnant, but now I am gaining back what I loss. I have to keep reminding myself that I am pregnant and as soon as I get the okay from the doctor after LO comes, I will be back on weight watchers.

  • Thanks so much everyone.  I thought I was weird feeling like this.  The belly was cute at first, but at 38 weeks not so cute anymore.

I did WW too and hit 67 pounds... now watching it creep back up has been tough!!  I'm looking forward to starting up again once the green light hits after the LO is born... I'm still registered as an online member (OBVIOUSLY NOT LOOSING WEIGHT), but using it to track my gain through pregnancy and back to goal again!!  Seeing the super cute fall clothes is not helping me at all!!
