ok, more like screaming.
The past few days Q has gotten REALLY upset while nursing and I'm trying to figure out what is going on.
If she's hungry she'll usually latch on right away and feed on one side until she decides she's done and unlatches. Sometimes the screaming starts there. Regardless of whether or not she's upset I burp her then.
Before 5 days ago she'd calm down after her burp and be ready to go back on, either on the same side if still full or on the other side.
Now she screams bloody murder as soon as I lay her down again to nurse.
I thought at first she was just done but then she'd do all of the hungry signs (madly chewing on her hand, tongue thrusts, etc) so I'd try the boob again and she'll SCREAM but then take it if I literally shove it down her throat.
This obviously is not normal. The only time she doesn't do this is the middle of the night. I'm at a loss.
I'm trying to burp her more and to bicycle her legs a bunch to work out any gas but this has been happening every day for the past 4-5 days.
So, I'm kind of at a loss. She hasn't been spitting up more than normal, I haven't been eating anything crazy except I've had a lot of nuts in the past few days. I've been chowing down on trail mix with lots of peanuts and almonds but now it's gone so hopefully if that is making her gassy it will go away in the next day.
Any ideas? I don't know what to do when she's acting hungry, I know she hasn't eaten much and she is so upset.
Is it possible that she's becoming a more efficient nurser and getting what she needs from one side?
Re: Crying at the breast...
really quick...
same happened to me at about the same time.
pump - bottle feed, but nurse before.
i think it's that horrible 6 week g-spurt or a nursing strike.
this too shall pass - promise!!!!

I was kind of wondering if maybe she had a sore throat or something because she had an AWFUL throw up episode yesterday morning. It was like nothing I've ever seen. She threw up 4 times in a row. It was projectile, & it was A LOT. I was wondering today if maybe she had some acid burn from the vomiting that could be causing her discomfort. Other than yesterday, I have never had a reason to suspect reflux...
I just googled it, & one of the symptoms was frequent hiccups. Reese has been hiccuping like crazy. I really hope that's not what it is...
I was just looking up some info on Kelly's Mom, & I found this. I know you don't want to hear this, Morgan, but one of the causes listed here is thrush.
