Falling down two stairs while holding one of your babies. Lily is just fine, thank God, but I had to fall in an awkward way to protect her and make sure she didn't touch ground. The result? Fractures at the #2 and #3 metatarsals and no weight bearing whatsoever for 6+ weeks. I can hardly help with the girls at all. I can hold and feed a baby and that's it. It sucks. Bad. I can't believe this happened. I feel so guilty for missing out on so much with them - wakeup time, bed time, dressing them, changing diapers, going for walks with them, etc.
I did score a cool shoe and handicap pass out of it, though.
Re: know what sucks?
Sorry to hear about your fall, hope your recovery goes by fast for you.
Luckily you were able to shield Lily from getting hurt...it's amazing what we as parents will/would do to protect our children
Because the breaks aren't displaced (thank God), I don't need a cast! My ankle is 100% fine and my tendons are in place (but surrounded by fluid) so it's best that my foot heal on its own for now. I go back in 2 weeks for more x-rays to make sure it's healing okay. This sexy shoe I have is just to protect myself from me.
I can't put any weight on it at all, so a boot wouldn't do much good, plus it's heavy and I am in so much pain that it would do more bad than good.
Sigh...

That sucks. You did good mama.... protected that Lily. I'll bet over the next 6wks you will get creative in new ways to interact with your girls.
Yes, what can we do to accessorize the shoe?
Oh no! I glad Lily is ok and I hope you heal quickly.
I had to wear that boot a couple of months ago and it was so loud when I walked, I thought the bottom would have been soft, but mine was like concrete.

I can't ever walk on mine. Well, not for at least 6 weeks. Ugh.
I think I am getting one of these.

Can Lily or Sophie fit in the basket? LOL - sorry, couldn't help it. Love how the woman in the pic looks sooo happy, like she was just waiting to F up her leg.
Seriously though, I am sorry you have to deal with this.
I am totally going to put my blackberry, notebook, and pen in the basket as I scoot off to meetings at work. How cool will I be?!

Oh no! So sorry, but glad Lily is okay and you weren't badly hurt.
Sexy shoe, though...
I'm sorry, that does suck. I hope you have a fast recovery!
