I know this is a very common question, but I've reviewed the past few pages of posts and still can't come to a decision!
Pre-pregnancy, I was not a very active runner (most I ran was 3 miles), but have set a goal of running a half marathon the year following the birth of my little one. That being said, which jogger should I get?!
I've heard great things about the BOB revolution, but I'm not sure it's the best for long-distance running?
I love the idea of the Phil and Ted being able to convert to use for more than 1 kiddo, but ditto the above - not so great for long-distance? I've seen reviews that the tires don't last...
BOB Ironman seems great, but what about the front wheel not having the option to swivel - is that a real problem if I want to do anything with the stroller besides run?
Re: So confused - Phil & Ted, BOB revolution, BOB Ironman??
I have the BOB Ironman and love it. I got that over the Revolution because I wanted a true running stroller and had heard about people not liking to run with the Revolution because it has a tendency to shimmy (even when the front wheel is locked). I also liked that the Ironman had a 16" front wheel which made it easier for running (as opposed to the 12" max front wheel on stroller with the swivel front wheel).
I do walk with it regularly and don't find it that difficult to maneuver with the fixed front wheel. But I'm just taking it through the neighborhood - not to the mall, etc (although I have taken it grocery shopping numerous times). If this was going to be your everyday stroller in addition to a running stroller I'd maybe think about going with one that has a swivel/lock front wheel.
Really I think it is a personal decision. I know many people run with the Revolution and are happy with it, and many people use the Ironman or other fixed wheel strollers for more than just running and are happy with it.
I am not sure about the Ironman because we have the Revolution.
However... just remember that you cannot (should not) run with them until they are about 8-9 months. Some will start a bit earlier... and if the ground is REALLY smooth then it's less of a problem.
Mine has good head control at 6 mos and he's not ready I wouldn't think.

I love my P&T but it's not great for long distances. For that you really (IMO) want a jogger with larger wheels. I have a Dreamer Design (they don't make it any more but it's very similar to Baby Jogger, same people started it) with 20" wheels and it is SO smooth.
I have jogged with BOB and Baby Jogger, and they are nice. BUT I would not spend that much money if you weren't an active runner before baby. No offense, that seems like a lofty goal; trust me it is harder to find time to run after baby, unless you SAH and you have a really good baby.
Craigslist is a good place to look.
I use my P&T for 5 miles or so, it does fine on hills, etc., if I didn't have the other one I probably wouldn't know what I was missing. And the optional tandem seat is FAN-tastic!
