NBR- needs help with "80's" outfit!

DH and I have an 80's costume party to attend this weekend.  I am having a hard time putting together an outfit...I barely have any clothes that fit right now never mind an entire 80's outfit! I don't mind spending a little $.  I was thinking of getting some leggings and either doing a long t shirt knotted or a mens button down with a belt.  I am at a loss for shoes though.  Any low budget outfit suggestions??!!

    I like the leggings and long tshirt or men's shirt ideas...how about some leg warmers with bright colored pointy high heels or scrunchy socks with converse(chucks) to go with the outfit?

    I was thinking scrunchy socks and Keds.  The brightly colored pumps are a good idea too.
