Toddlers: 12 - 24 Months

here the problem I am having with DS's cloths right now. Help.

He is getting to big for 18m cloths. Shirts are to short and the pants are getting tight around his belly unless they have an stretchy waist. So we went out and started buying 24m. Shirts fit him good. The pants are WAY to long on him but fit around his belly.

What do I do?

  • Under-roll them and pin them.  That's what we've done with DS' pants.  He's in 18 mth right now but they're still an inch and a half too long so I just rolled them under and pinned them on the seam.

  • Roll them up. I personally don't pin B's pants simply because pins can come undone and poke. I know, because I have to pin ALL my pants until I can get them to a tailor and I've drawn blood on myself more than once through simple daily activity (walking, pulling on/off).

They do make sticky stuff you can use to "hem" pants without scissors or needles, though I can't think of the name. You could try that, I'm just not sure how easily it comes off.

Honestly, unless it's for pictures or a formal occasion, I really don't think anyone will judge you for having visible rolls on your child's pants.
