Hi everyone,
I just read in my pregnancy journal NOT to use any face products with Salicylic acid. I was using Neutrogena acne wash (pink grapefruit) which has 2% Salicylic acid in it...It supposedly causes birth defects if used in large amounts (???) Which of course now I am a little worried...What the F am I supposed to use?? And then you read on about crap in moisturizers etc, you just don't even feel like you can use anything!! LOL Any input is appreciated !
Re: Face wash/moisturizers???
I have acne too... I just started using Belli face wash. It contains lactic acid, which is safe. I only got it yesterday, so I can't comment on its effectiveness.

Me too, I swear by it. I started using it my first pregnancy at the suggestion of women here, and I will never switch.
Plus, it's cheap at the drug store. Perfection.
I went to Whole Foods tonight and got some organic skincare that I'm hoping will help. I typically don't have acne problems, so I don't know quite how to deal with it
ps- Some of the natural skincare I looked at still had salicylic acid, so read labels carefully
Also, "white willow bark" is the herbal form of salicylic acid. Natural doesn't necessarily mean safe and sometimes the ingredient list is harder to decipher.
I used Belli's acne wash when I was pregnant with DD. It seemed to work really well and I'm using it again this pregnancy, but I also use a light therapy device.
You should start seeing a significant improvement once you hit 2nd tri. Hang in there.
Aw, shoot! I didn't know this (slaps hand on forehead, feeling like an idiot). I've been using the same face wash you have, for weeks now! Yikes. thanks for posting this! I'm going face wash shopping today
