Got some great stuff last night

There is a consignment sale here that is held twice a year and has tons of baby clothes, toys, supplies for great prices. We went to the preview sale last night (had to expecting or a new mom to register) and were able to pick up a Fisher Price rainforest play mat, an Eddie Bauer bouncer/vibrating seat, a Fisher Price Dome Away From Home, a baby bathtub, a Boppy pillow, a PB wicker laundry hamper, a brand new snow bunting, brand new Louisville onesie, and about a half dozen gender neutral sleep sacks and winter outfits all for $120.

I priced stuff out online when we got home and realized we saved over $200 off retail prices. I only wish I knew whether it was a boy or girl because I could have bought so much more stuff. They had a ton of bedding and adorable clothes. They had cribs, strollers and carseats as well but I've seen several recommendations not to buy a used crib/carseat and I'm leaning toward a travel system.

They have another sale in September in southern Indiana and another sale here in Louisville in February.

What would you be willing to buy used?

I think the only way I would buy used furniture was if I knew who it was coming from and that would be for baby gear and crib. Now if it was a dresser or a bureau then I have not problem as we are looking for one for DS's new room.

I am going to one in October. It's being held by a school/church and all proceeds go to their scholarship program. Since I am not going to have a baby shower, I'm definitely buying quite a bit of items from them.

What an awesome score! I've been stalking Craigslist for a couple of items I want and plan to hit up the consignment stores this weekend to start getting a feel for them. The only things that we are not comfortable buying used are crib and carseat. Pretty much anything else I'm game as long as I feel I can clean it really well. Right now I'm on the hunt for an Arms Reach Co-Sleeper basinette and Ergo carrier for the right price.
