I m 34 years old and I turn 35on 11/14/10. I am 4 weeks pregnant now and on my birthday will be about 3 1/2 months along. Being that I will be 35 will my OB put me in the high risk category because of my age?
I'm 35 and will deliver at 35. My doctor said that the reason I'm considered elevated risk is not because of age solely but because of previous loss and thyroid issues.
Congrats!

I don't think the pregnancy is considered high risk, as in you would need to see high risk doctors. However you have a higher chance of developing a complication. If you develop one you may be considered high risk then depending on what it is.
I am pregnant with twins at 41, and not considered "high risk". But.. there are perhaps more appointments and tests in my future than if I was, say, 22. Don't worry - even if you are considered "high risk", it's nothing more than an term, albeit a scary sounding one. Every expectant mother worries, and with open communication and the right help from a doctor (or midwife), you'll be able to keep anything in check as best you can.
I'll also be turning 35 in October and the OB didn't quite put me in the "high risk" category, but she did ask me if I wanted to take the prenatal tests (non evasive) that they do these days...

Congrats by the way!
