Need birthday party ideas...

DS is turning 5 and we have run out of party places.  He did Chuck E Cheese last year, DD did Monkey Bizness/Pump It Up in July as did most of their friends bday parties we have gone to recently.  I thought about the zoo but it is pretty expensive and a little bit of a drive for guests (we are in Spring).  Any ideas?  Places in The Woodlands?  We can't do a home party (in an apt right now) - maybe a park but I hate to worry about the weather...any suggestions are appreciated.

  • There is the new bounce place on 2920.   Bouncing Bears.  Not sure if that is too similar to MB/PIU.  There is some sort of kids art place that does parties on Louetta near Vintage Park.  My neice went to a party there and had fun.

  • Gymboree?  I know our gym (lifetime) has birthday parties for kids.  I saw one the other day and will definitely book one there for DD sometime.  They were playing with the big parachute when I walked by - which was one of my favorites as a kid.

  • Sorry just re-read your post.  I thought the party was for your DD.  An art party may not be appropriate for a boy???

  • Isn't there a new Children's Museum in the Woodlands?  The ladies who live there may know.  But maybe check them out.

  • Not sure what your budget is but my sister-in-law just did a gym party for my niece...it was about $250 to rent the gym out and then they had organized for the first part and then open play for another hour after.   It was a lot of fun and that covered about 20 kids...plus the adults got in on the fun too.  You might check out some local gyms in your area to see what they have to offer!
  • James Coney Island.  We went to a birthday party at the Conroe location in June for a 5 year old and it was fun.  They had a hotdog decorating contest, someone dressed up as the Coney Island hotdog and other fun stuff.  You might check it out at the 45/1960 location.

There is one on Sawdust also.

  • what about a pottery decorating place.  those are always fun and boys and girls both like to paint objects.  or along the same lines as a gym party, i know the little gym offers parties.  not sure of the cost on either.
  • There is a Railroad Museum.  I am thinking of having one of our parties there.  My DD loooooves trains.

Sarah had her 3rd birthday party at the old location in the mall and they did a great job.  It's one of the cheaper places to have a party around here, especially if you'er already a Museum member.

I was going to suggest this.  My 5-year old went to one a few months ago and loved it.

  • I know that Westwood Gymnastics in Katy is a big hit. Maybe check out those kind of places in your area.
