Are you packing on the pounds yet?

So I'm interested to know how much weight y'all have gained so far.  I started at 163lbs, and now I just can't eat enough to surpass 158lbs. Doc isn't worried (yet!), but I hadn't seen a post yet with this topic.

  • I haven't been keeping tabs on my weight gain since my first pregnancy when my doc thought I was purposefully throwing up to avoid weight gain!! (Lost a LOT of weight, I think 10lbs in the first month.) I started out at 175lbs, and am currently about 178. I really don't want to gain much more because I'm normally 150-155lbs. Birth control made me pack on 20lbs in a matter of months!!

    My doctor says I could hit 200 and I'd be fine, but I think if I saw that number on the scales I'd cry myself to sleep every night. (The only reason I'm allowed such a high wight gain is because I'm 6ft2in!)

  • I went to the doctor 2 weeks ago, and the doctor I seen was filling in for mine, I had lost 4lbs in 3 weeks because of m/s and she said they were concerned about my weight. I went from 155lbs to 151lbs, she prescribed Diclectin and told me I need to start gaining.

    I looked for my pregnancy journal from DS and I had lost the same amount of weight at the same time too, so I decided not to get the diclectin, and my morning sickness went away last week.  Since then I haven't been able to get enough food, and none of my clothes fits right now. So i'm afraid to be weighed this time.

    With DS I lost at the beginning but they complained I was gaining to much when I started!! Went from 132lbs to 175lbs, and he was 3 & 1/2 weeks early.

  • Coming off BC made me gain 10, then with the first pregnancy before I m/c I gained 5 so I already went into this one about 15 pounds heavier than normal. I am normally 115-120. I am currently 146 so yep packing on the pounds. I figure my body needs it. I dont over eat (although what I do eat is junk). I ate pretty healthy prior to being pregnant, and now all I want is carbs and chick-fil-A and Mexican food. My goal is to stay under 160....we will see.

  • Not at all. I  gained 1, lost 2, and am doing my best to gain more so my doctor doesn't yell at me at my appointment on Wednesday. So far I've gained about 1/2 lb since my last appt.

  • Not yet but I'm working on it!  I am a 5'11" daughter of a linebacker so just to maintain my weight requires quite a bit of eating which I havent been up to over the last three months.  I'm trying to eat healthy and Im  having icecream shakes for extra calories - this is what I had to do when I was an athlete in highschool to keep weight on.  I just dont think there is a way to get all of the calories I need for weight gain from 100% healthy food.
  • I started at 117 and have been at 120 for my last 2 Dr. visits. He said he's not concerned that I didn't gain anything between the last 2 visits and that he'll tell me if/when he's getting concerned.

  • I've gained 11. Yep! And I'm not stressing. I might be a few pounds over what's recommended so far, but I was too exhausted/nauseated to exercise during 1st tri, so I'm hoping things will even out in the end. And, as my wonderful DH said, "It's all for the baby! And every body is different!"

  • I had gained about 10 at my doctors visit two weeks ago, and then lost one by my visit yesterday.  I still am throwing up, so my weight is pretty variable, however the only thing that will make me stop throwing up is to eat more, so I'm not surprised I gained 10.  My doctor seemed a bit concerned yesterday and told me to make sure I was still getting enough to eat even with the throwing up because I had lost.  Don't worry, that won't be a problem!  Lol.  I'm keeping an eye on it but understanding that my body is going to do what its going to do and I can accept that.

  • I went from 105 to 110, so a total of 5 lbs so far.

  • I lost about 6 during the first trimester and have gained back a couple in the past couple weeks.
  • I started this pregnancy at about 170, and I've been hanging out around 175-176 for the last few dr's appts. I have another appt tomorow and will weigh again, so we'll see if it's changed any more!

  • Like Lilleybug, I ate more healthy pre pregnancy. It's been tough with morning sickness and food aversions (my main one being most veggies and I am a vegetarian). The morning sickness has almost stopped, although this morning I did throw up bile because I didn't eat before getting out of bed and my dh made pasta (another aversion) this morning for his breakfast. To answer your question though, I went to the doctor yesterday and I was up to 135 pounds. I am pretty sure I'm at 132 normally. So, up 3 pounds.

  • I'm up about 4 lbs from PP weight. Doing much better than last time. With DD I was up about 12 lbs by this point
  • I started out at 113 and didn't gain anything at my first two appointments.  I have my next appointment on Thursday and I think I'll be up a few pounds.  According to my scale I'm up about 3 lbs.  I don't gain weight very easily so I'm not surprised I haven't gained more, I've also never been pregnant before so this is a whole new experience for me!

  • Umm I feel like I am! I'm 5'9" and the day I found out I was PG I was 167. I had been on a 2 week vacation and gained abt 5 pounds lol. I lost a few in my first tri, so the lowest I weighed in at during that time was 160. At todays apt...I'm back up to 171. SO from pre peg I'm only up 4 pounds buuuut according to my scale at home, I've put back 11 pounts. NOT GOOD! I delivered around 205 with my frist pg and I'm really hopig I don't get that big again!

  • I've gained about 2 lbs total. My doctor is thrilled with that number since I'm a little overweight to begin with.

  • I've lost 10 lbs total due to morning sickness and lack of appetite. At my appt. 3 weeks ago, I was down 6lbs and the doctor said that my weight needs to begin slowly increasing or at least staying the same. I went in on Fri. due to dehydration and was 4 lbs less than the previous 2 weeks! I can tell in my legs that I've lost weight, but my belly is sticking out farther, and even DH said the other night how my belly was popping out a bit more!

  • I'm only up 1lb and I didn't really have much ms besides a couple weeks of some food aversions.  Like someone else who posted above, I'm a vegetarian (well kind of, I eat fish, too) but I haven't been as interested in vegetables or fish lately.  I had a dr appt today and she wasn't concerned at all -- said pregnancy weight gain is very uneven and I'll still gain what I need to in the end.

    I keep joking that there's no need to go back to a healthy diet and exercise after this since I've only gained 1lb, I haven't exercised at all and I've pretty much been on the all-carb diet Wink
