Breastfeeding

If your LO has a milk allergy, please come in!!

DD has been incredibly fussy after feeding for the past two weeks.  We saw her dr. this morning and he thinks that it may be a milk allergy.  I officially started my dairy free diet today.

I am just wondering how long it takes for LO to adjust to the diet.  If this is truly the problem, when will we start to see an improvement in her eating?

TIA!!

  • our doc our DD does too and not sure how long it takes, I am on the nasty dairy free diet (feeling like crap too) but I am pumping and she is on formula which seems to help. going to take her next diaper in to get tested for blood in her stool which is how the doc knows she has an allergy to something, I had a milk allergy when i was a baby so we think it is to milk!! fun fun GL to you!!

this, but I saw marked improvement after 3 or 4 days.  all symptoms completely gone by 2 weeks.

just FYI, I was able to slowly add dairy back in starting around 7 months.  Now he's just over a year old and he's drinking whole milk from a sippy with no problems!

  • We saw improvement in a few days after I stopped dairy, but I read that it takes two weeks to get it out of your system. I have also given up corn and soy (both of which I am allergic to, but was still eating), because she seemed to have issues with those as well.  I have also given up wheat, which I believe I am allergic to, and she seems to be sensitive to.
