I just set up an etsy store for my dad a couple of days ago. He has already gotten an offer but I'm possitive its scam. This lady wants to buy his clock but is out at sea, she has no access to her bank account but can pay through paypal. She wanted to pay him extra so my dad could wire the extra money to her agent to come pick it up instead of us shipping it. Then she goes on to say she can't pay through etsy paypal but can use paypal using my dad's email address.

I'm not familiar with paypal or etsy at all yet, I'm looking into all of it right now. My question is can you report someone to etsy, should I report her? I know if its posted on etsy you have to buy it through the site so they get their profit too. And for paypal to be valid it must be shipped right?- not that'd we would ever wire someone money.

This plus any time someone offers extra money to be wired back, it's a scam.

Definitley a scam. We've had similar replies when selling things on craigslist. It has something to do with she'll send you the check that will bounce, and you've already wired the money back to her. (I believe that's the method, we researched awhile ago when we had this issue)
