Potty Training

What's so special about 3day method?

I keep hearing about it and see it all over here now. What is the gist of the plan? Is it worth paying money for? Anyone willing to send it to me so I can check it out?

We just started going full-steam yesterday, but I can't figure out how to get him to go for that first time on the potty. He tells me immediately after he goes, but I know if he was to go once he would see what we are talking about.

Basically I'm clueless and I need help. Anyone? Bueler? That was a lot of questions for one post. :)

Re: What's so special about 3day method?

  • The 3-day method is about reading your child's body cues and says 100% ditch all diapers and move onto underwear - let your child have accidents, etc.

I found a great deal of the info useful, but I felt the method was more about training me and less about training my child and I am not really into the "all or nothing" approach.  We basically introduced DD and she goes on the toilet the majority of the time when we are home and now she is starting to ask when we are out as well.  Our DCP says absolutely no underwear unless child is 100% PT and I agree - it is not her responsibility to clean up after or train my child.  That is my job.  We are taking a lax approach and she is doing excellent.  I am confident she will be trained well before her 3rd birthday and that is fine with me.

I have the manual if you want to PM me your e-mail address.

  • That makes a lot of sense. I quickly ditched the "go underwear cold turkey" part after two days of disaster. It's definitely something I'm going to have to train myself to be on top of since he couldn't care less.

I'll PM you now - thanks!
