There is "showing" and there is "out of your clothes". I can't look at another..."I think I might be showing at 5 weeks." Can I please have the skinny on when do you show and when do you give up your pre-pregnancy clothes?

I am about 5'8" and 135-140 non-preg.
With my first, I had a nice little bump at 20 weeks, but still did not really "pop" so that strangers noticed till more like 24ish weeks.
With my second maybe a little sooner. But I still held out on maternity for quite awhile. I have a few pants in a size up than normal that I wore to work well into the second trimester, which I also wore in the weeks (okay months) after having each kid. Highly reccomend this, you will need it after!
I'm on #3 now and 13 weeks, still going strong in normal- size up jeans and yoga pants.
I get being bloated, but not "showing" at 5 weeks.
I remember specifically buying a whole outfit - cute shirt and maternity pants - to be worn on Thanksgiving with my first pregnancy.
I was around 20 weeks so I was convinced I would look PG. Not so much, I totally could've worn normal jeans still as long as the were low-rise.
So I think as far as really showing, it was past 22 weeks and I didn't a nice size belly to almost 6.5-7 months.
It amazing what you can do with flowy shirts (like from Forever 21) and comfortable (read: stretchy) or low-rise jeans.
I've worn mat. pants a couple times already this time for comfort but I can still wear my normal clothes just fine.
SAHM to two sweet girls, both born at home; Baby #3 in 2013!
This has been me excatly. This is my first.
I was in maternity pants for work at about 11 weeks last time. My dress pants just weren't cut right to fit right. I wore my regular jeans longer with a bella band. But I didn't have strangers or people who didn't know me well asking if I was pregnant until around 17-18 weeks.
This time, I'm still in my non maternity work pants, hoping I can stay in them a couple more weeks, although they are already a bit uncomfortable. I've already had a relative whom I don't see often ask my mom if I was KU.
This is almost my situation exactly!
1st pregnancy: m/c began 1/12/09 d&c 1/13/09 8wks. Baby stopped growing at about 6wks.
Delaney: Born 10/15/09
Gavin: Born 4/8/11
Baby #3: due July 10, 2014
I started REALLY showing with #1 between 18 and 20 weeks.
I am just barely showing now with #2 ... I give it about 2 more weeks before it'll be really obvious though.

My first pregnancy, I started to notice that I was showing at 19-20 weeks, but friends/strangers started noticing around 24 weeks. I was in a bella band in the first tri due to bloat, but back to normal jeans/pants until about 20 weeks.
This time, I'm 12 weeks now and still no bump at all, or any difference for that matter. I'm guessing I still have a few weeks left until it starts showing, if it does show earlier this time.

Elizabeth is 6
Katherine is 18 months
1st pregnancy I was not in maternity clothes until 28 weeks and I was showing around then.
This time, maternity pants at 14 weeks and definitely showing now. I was showing a whole lot of bloat between weeks 5-9.
1st time: I was showing to the rest of the world between 12-14 weeks and in all maternity by 18 weeks.
This time I am showing now, around 10 weeks, although I can still hide it pretty well. I dont foresee maternity clothes anytime too soon.

I love these two beautiful children!
Actual real showing when people knew I was pregnant without me saying something? Around 17-18 weeks.
Clothes getting tight and I need to wear a size up or bella band? 13 weeks on.

With my first pregnancy I was around 17 weeks or so when I needed to do the hairband trick on my jeans. I bought maternity clothes shortly after that. Since then, I'd say somewhere around the beginning of the second trimester I made the switch to maternity pants (I wore my normal tshirts through most of my pregnancies).
Though I will say I'm wearing a pair of maternity shorts right now. I don't need them, but they're incredibly comfortable.

I was in maternity pants at 14 weeks with my first, only because my dress pants weren't cut low enough to wear them comfortably. I was also on progesterone until 13 weeks and I was horribly bloated, so maternity pants were just more comfortable. I wore my regular jeans much longer. I wore a lot of regular shirts my entire pregnancy and didn't buy a true maternity shirt until I was in the third tri.
This pregnancy is a different story. Thankfully, I now work at a place that I can wear scrubs, so I plan to wear my regular scrubs the entire pregnancy. My regular pants and jeans started to get uncomfortable around 11 weeks. I think I'm going to have to break out the maternity pants this week.
