  I visited my parents over the weekend and checked the birth announcements in my hometown newspaper. I don't know what it is with the J names ? they're just very popular in my hometown (9 of the 19 babies listed had J names).

  Oh, and I was also watching House Hunters International, and there was an Irish family. The daughter was Beverly, the wife/mom's name sounded like a variation of Finola/Fionnuala. The husband/dad's name was Francis, but his wife called him, Fran.

  I met a little girl named Catalina, nickname Caty (like the word cat). Of course, I'd heard it before, but it's rare and I think it's pretty.

  Althea...although it isn't a new name by any means this is the first time I'd heard it begin used for a baby.

  Poor kid! I don't think people actually KNOW who Jezebel was when they name their kids this. That's what Google's for!!!

  Wow. I mean, I don't like Brielle that much - just a personal preference - but why do that to a perfectly good name. And Clo-ee?

  Actually, the name "Jezebel" comes into our language through the name "Isabel." Jezebel is pronounced is-UH-bel in Hebrew. The name of the most awful woman in the Bible is actually one of the most popular names in this country.
