Please read and comment--chemical pregnancy????

Yesterday I tested at home with Clearblue in the morning, and it was obviously positive. Then, I went to have a doctor confirm it so I could tell hubby. Positive. Woke up with morning and went to my first prenatal appointment. When I got there, they mixed up mine and another woman's chart. The doctor comes in and says, I am sorry. You're not pregnant. Your test was ran twice and both were negative. I told him yesterday a doctor confirmed it. He had a nurse take blood, I get the results tomorrow. I even mentioned something about possibly switching the charts, maybe they tested the wrong urine, he said that was not possible.

So, I am a little relieved and a little upset on the way home. I got home, and tested......came up positive before I could flush. Tested again a little later, again, positive. Can someone please explain this. I know the blood results will determine. But I am so upset!!

    Dr could have most DEFINATELY tested the wrong cup if they screwed up your chart. He's just performing some CYA. I say wait for the blood but if your urine is positive I'd say almost certainly your blood will be too. Keep in mind their tests have such a range of amounts that will make it positive it's also possible that they have less sensitive tests

    I am so sorry you are going through that stress... hopefully it was just a mix up on their part and the dr doesn't want to admit to that for some reason.

    WOW! First off, I am very sorry that you had to go through that. I would definitely call the office manager and demand that they run my labs STAT. This is ridiculous! Second, I don't have any experience with a CP so no help there. I will be anxiously awaiting the news!

    sounds like they definitely screwed up the test in the office.  sounds like you are pregnant.  congrats!

    Definitely sounds like a mix up at the office.  The beta results tomorrow should clear it all up.

    I have to imagine the doctors office screwed things up and I would be so mad. If you are getting positives, your blood tests should definitely show that.

    I had 3 chemical pregnancies. Each day the line got lighter and within days I always started bleeding. The lines never were super dark and never got darker.

    Sorry you are going through this.

    Sounds like you're pregnant and they messed up today. Even when I had my chemical pregnancies, I was pregnant on my home tests, on the doctor's tests, and on the blood test. The pregnancy just didn't stick. GL and hang in there for the results! But looks like you're pregnant!!

    Not a chemical pregnancy. The Dr told me that I was not pregnant with the son who is pictured below. They mixed up your tests... be assertive and demand a retest.

    Oh my goodness!!!  What an emotional roller coaster!  I think they could have mixed up the samples and tested the wrong one.  Also, I would think their test would be more sensitive so if they really did get negatives then your home tests wouldn't continue to show up positive.  Sending lots of good thoughts your way.  Hope the time flies by for you!

    If you still got a + today I'd say it's not a CP. The bloodwork would probably still have something positive even when your urine no longer tests positive, so my guess is they made a mistake. If you got a negative urine result shortly after a positive one (or within a few days), THEN that could be a CP. I got faint positives over the course of 4 days before I finally got a negative test. The positives never got much darker and the lines were really faint. That was a CP - the day after the negative test I started bleeding.

    One other thing you could do, if you haven't already, is take a different brand test..I suppose it would be rare but maybe possible that the test batch you had was bad. But, FWIW, I think you are pg. I'm not sure what the doctor's office thinks.

    ok, as a lab tech this totally pisses me off!  If you're so sure you're pregnant and all the test you've taken are positive, AND there's a chance of a mixup with the charts I would have your specimen recollected!  I wonder if that other girl thinks she's pregnant now....

    We both had similar names we're both Emily. Hmmm....what am I gonna do until tomorrow? They won't rush the test! I saw her on my way out, she looked like she could be upset, ha ha. Idk. This sucks. I'm not bleeding yet. I'll just love on my pumpkin and hope 9am comes really soon!!!!!!!
