? for Moms pregnant with #2 or more

Will you be getting a double stroller?  DD will be a few months shy of three when the baby is born and I can't decide if we will need a double stroller.  She very rarely rides in the stroller anymore.  I'm thinking about just getting an umbrella stroller for her.

  • DD will be just past 2, so I'm pretty sure we'll be getting a double. BRU is having their trade-in event right now, so we'll trade in the old stroller to her travel system, to buy our new double with 25% off! Same thing for the infant carseat and highchair too.

  • We're in the same boat--DS will be a little less than 3 when this baby is born.  I haven't really decided what to do yet.  DS doesn't really ride in the stroller very much, and we have a double jog stroller that we could use (although it's huge when folded and I'm not sure it'd fit in the car with two carseats).  I think I'm just going to wait and see what happens, but I'm leaning toward not getting a double.  I'll probably use a sling or carrier for the baby for a while anyhow, so that might buy me a few more months.

  • #1 will only be 19.5 months when new baby arrives.   We already have the UppaBaby Vista, so we are looking at purchasing the Rumble seat attachment for it (found it on Amazon for $100).

  • when I was pregnant with #2, I got a double stroller because my first was 2 and a half when the baby was born.  I still use it and he's almost 4 and #2 is a year and a half.  I'm glad I got one  - it's nice to have on walks when you don't feel like pushing a stroller while you're helping to steer your oldest to the side of the road while they're on their bike.. and also good for the zoo, malls, etc when the oldest "doesn't feel like walking"  which happens a lot when they see the new baby riding comfortably in a stroller and get jealous while they are forced to hoof it.  :)

  • Nope.  DS will almost 3 and he already hates the stroller.

this exactly. that's even the stroller we want too!!

  • I'm thinking I'm getting a cheap double stroller. Then, we'll use our stroller and a carrier or stroller and K will walk.

  • I'd like to get a sit n stand stroller, but MH is still on the fence. some how he likes the idea of us pushing around 2 strollers but that doesn't work when its just me going out with both of them.

  • I haven't decided yet, but more than likely.. yes.  Tooter Man will only be about 14-15mos old, so we will most definitely need something for both of them to ride in.

  • Nah.  I will just wear LO2 and have DS in the stroller.  We already have two strollers so if we're both going somewhere and one of us does not feel like wearing the LO, we can each have a stroller'd child.

  • I will probably wait until the baby is born to buy a double so I can get something that is age-appropriate and I know better what our needs will be. UNLESS I find an awesome deal at a garage sale.

  • If I come across a sit n stand stroller on craigslist or at a garage sale then yes I probably will. I have a lot of carriers that work really well and I'd be more likely to use them anyway. DS will have just turned 3 when this baby is born and while I think it would be so much easier to keep both contained in a stroller DS likes to get out and walk. I don't really want to spend a lot of money  on something I won't get a great deal of use out of.

  • Yes, I will be getting the InStep Safari double jogger. I had the single with DD and will be giving it to my sister who has a new lo and upgrading to the double. Its really affordable and I love how easy it is to use.
  • My DS will be 2 when this LO is born (hopefully!).  I will be getting a double jogging stroller right away. I am a SAHM and walk every day so we def need it.

For down the road I will probably get a sit and stand type of stroller.  Have you looked into that?  They are small for a double stroller and that way your DD can decide if she wants to sit, stand, or walk next to you.

  • DS rarely gets in a stroller either and will be almost 3 when this one is born.  I'm thinking of getting something like this Sit and Stand stroller:

    https://www.google.com/products/catalog?q=sit+and+stand+stroller&um=1&ie=UTF-8&cid=16295273217829413024&ei=hupzTIjqKoT48AbMqY3xCA&sa=X&oi=product_catalog_result&ct=image&resnum=1&ved=0CEEQ8gIwAA#

That way he can ride if he wants to or walk if he wants to.

  • My DD will be close to 5 when the baby is born so we have no need for a double stroller.  My DD hasn't used a stroller since she was 2.

  • yes they will be 16 months apart.

we will probably go with this one

    https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002R26LZM/ref=lst_llp_sl-2

    or this one

    https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000IHTD8A/ref=lst_llp_sl-1

which is a sit and stand or regular double stroller

  • DS will be almost 3 when DC#2 gets here, and he definitely likes riding in his stroller.  However, I think I'm leaning towards a sit and stand (Joovy Caboose Ultralight), or possibly a Phil & Ted's where you can remove the back seat and it still works as a single.  Either way he'd have the option of sitting or walking.
