Freaking out, whitish poop????

DD's been having whitish, pasty poop for about a week now.  I'm thinking it's from the whole milk because it started happening a bit after she started drinking it consistently.  She is not in pain or anything.  Did anyone else go through this?  Do I need to be concerned?  Call ped?

  • Call your pedi.  DS has is now at a 75% milk/25% blend of formula and the whole time we've been transitioning I haven't seen what you're describing.

  • Call the pedi ASAP. Better safe than sorry IMO, and white poop is not normal so I'd call.

Yeah, when we were doing part formula and part milk, I never saw it either.

  • White poop could be a sign of an intolerance.  Call your pedi but don't panic!  You might just have to give LO soy or rice milk until she outgrows it.

  • It may be something or nothing.  Call the pedi ASAP.  It has the potential of being something related to the liver or kidneys.

  • Call your pedi and don't Google.  Google says scary things.  J had this a couple of weeks ago, I Googled and then freaked out.  The pedi said it was most likely viral and if it hadn't gone back to normal within a week, we'd have to run liver and gall bladder tests (it's white due to a lack of bile).  But they'll want to check her out anyway.  J's went back to normal on its own within a couple of days (after the pedi visit - it started on a Friday and we saw the pedi on Monday).
  • DD's was really pale yellow after switching to whole milk, but never actually white.
  • The same thing happened to my lo when we first switched to whole milk, it will pass. I wouldn't be too concerned but if it makes you feel better to call your pedi then you should.
