in 1st Trimester
I called my OB today and she wants to see me for my first visit at 7 weeks. With DD she wanted to see me at 8 weeks, is it different because it is baby #2? When was your first visit?

     Not that I'm aware of.  I went in for history at 5wks and then I think dr I saw at 7wks.

    Unless you had complications with your 1st pregnancy then I would think it would be the same.

    I was seen at 8 weeks with my 1st pregnancy.  For my 2nd pregnancy I was also scheduled at 8 weeks but I miscarried at 6.5 weeks.  When I called to make my appt for this pregnancy the receptionist told me they usually schedule appts at 8-10 weeks but because I miscarried last time, they would see me sooner.

    Everyone is a little different with when they want to see you, especially if you've been PG before.  The accepted standard for first visits for 2nd + pregnancies is anywhere from 4-11wks.

    It may have just been the first available appointment she had. I know my dr.'s office said they like to see woman between 6-8 weeks and then scheduled me at 7 weeks.

    Same thing happened to me!! I was wondering this as well but I just figured maybe she was booked for when I'd be 8wks

    With DD, my first appt was around 8 weeks and then 12 weeks.  With #2, my initial was at 7.5, 10 (semi-urgent care) and again at 14 weeks.

    My guess is it's a scheduling thing.  Maybe the doc will be out of the office when you are 8 wks.

    It is a schedule thing... I was scheduled at almost 10 weeks with DD#1 this time I am going at just over 6 weeks almost a month earlier... I asked why and the receptionist said that it is becuase they have the opening!
