With DS I had 3 diff strollers. Started with a graco quattro and hated it. Was huge and heavy. Then got a combi lightweight that was too short for me ((was a gift)), so I sold both of those and got the peg pliko lite which i loved and have used until today. I want to have ONE stroller until #2 is grown out of it! I want to make the best decision now, and be in love with it.
Ok so I looooove the Uppa Vista. I can't help it. I had my head set on the Baby jogger Citymini - which if you know the strollers you know they're super different! I saw the uppa, watched a demo in the store, annnnd I'm in love with it. Cheapest I can find it is $565 on ebay new. ![]()
Does anyone have a stroller with a bassinet that doesn't live in the city? I just don't see myself using it, and its really holding me back. I do love the piggy back accessorie because DS can ride along so to speak. Anyone have the uppa?? The Mini? Or just wanna shake me senseless for considering spending $565 on a stroller! Lol
Re: Uppa Vista - Talk me down! Little long...
Popular topic of conversation today! (there's an Uppa post below, too!)
I have the Uppa that I got in 2007 with DS. I really love it, but I lived in Boston and really needed something that could handle brick sidewalks, miles of walking nearly every day, storage for groceries or laundry, etc. I know it's a lovely stroller but I really can't justify suggesting it to a suburban mom unless they have no qualms about throwing that much money on something just because they like the look and features.
Personally, I LOVE the City Mini. It folds like a DREAM (rented one in WDW last year), is super light, the sun shade goes so low and is way better than Uppa's IMO. It leans back nearly flat for naptime, the storage is seriously lacking compared to the Uppa, but what stroller isn't?! The Uppa storage is insane (and GREAT). If I was putting my stroller in and out of the car a lot, I would much prefer the City Mini because it's so much lighter to throw in rather than the Uppa (It's pretty heavy to lift with the toddler seat attached).
If you like the PiggyBack, check and see if the Lascal BuggyBoard fits with the City Mini (or any other stroller you find and like). I got the Uppa before they had any accessories other than the carseat adapter. They said on their website that they were working on a ride-on board, but in the meantime suggested the Lascal BuggyBoard, so that counts for something from me anyway!
A possibility was born the day you were born and will live as long as you live.
Have you checked out the Kolcraft Contours? We had the double 2 yrs ago with my daughter and 18mo son, it was the perfect stroller for us. We're definitely going for the single this time around. The under basket is HUGE, so perfect for holding a large diaper bag, your purse, and a few goody bags if you went to an amusement park and bought something.
It does not have the cot, which is fine with me because for the younger babies a carseat is sufficient, and the actual toddler seat fully reclines and can face forward or you. Nice big sun canopy, too. I've seen them range for $160-190 depending on where you get it, color, number of wheels, etc.
You do have to look carefully at the reviews though- it turns out the 3 wheel version (which comes in way cuter colors IMO)'s toddler seat is a little bit smaller. But that's about it. It's a great deal and lasts til at least 2-3yrs, so you will DEFINITELY get your money's worth out of it!
