Nurseries and Baby Gear

Had anyone bought Romina furniture!

I have to say that today we went to a huge baby store that carried the whole Stokke line. ?In the past we had only seen the crib and liked the concept. ?There wall unit which is called the Keep was a huge disappointment to us $1500 made of partical board and was very cheap looking. ?We saw the Romina furniture which we had not seen before and DH fell in love with it. ?This is a set that should last forever if you take care of it. ?It was all solid wood with a steep price tag. ?Does anyone have there furniture? ?What do you think about it? ?

Re: Had anyone bought Romina furniture!

  • We have purchased Romina furniture - it just has not been delivered yet. They told us it could take up to 12 weeks, and has been 8 so far. We ordered the Nerva convertible crib, double dresser and nightstand. Yes, the price is very steep, but we hope the set will last a very long time. The reviews I read were all very good and it has some very nice features.

What style did you look at?

  • DH feel in love with there furniture. We are also looking at the Nerva crib because that one is his favorite. ?The other pieces seemed a little girly to me. ?We are not going to find out what we are having so we are thinking of ?getting the 6 draw dresser and night stand in Violini. ?I agree the price is steep but the furniture is beautiful and looks like it can take a good beating...lol! ?What color finish did you get? ?I am having a hard time between the Espresso, Bruno Rosso & Nero. ?
  • It sounds like we have the same taste on a lot of things I also got the Peg Car seat! ?What color are you getting? I bought the papaia
  • I am also in love with a Romina crib.  I purchased the Munire Urban for my son.  I want some a different and a little more girlie since I am having a girl this time.  I like the Crescendo model.  I am not sure I am willing to break down and do it....but other than the Munire Urban there isn't another crib I like as much...and I don't want the kids to have the same exact furniture.

We do have similar tastes! We ordered the furniture in Bruno Russo. I can't wait to get it! We are getting the Peg car seat in Black Tie - I like the papaia too!

I also like the black tie...we do like the same things. ?Do you know what you are having? ? We are not finding out. ? Now I have been on the search for bedding. ?I am not a theme person and love bright colors. ?My DH bought me the bugaboo stroller this week and I am so thrilled. ?What stroller are you getting? ?Sorry I am asking so many questions I just find it funny that so far we have liked a lot of the same things. ?

  • We bought the Romina Karisma convertible crib and double dresser in espresso. They said 10-14 weeks, and it's been about 6. I can't wait for it to arrive! I don't think there is anything comparable out there in terms of quality (we looked a lot and were briefly considering a YA by Stanley and a Munire set until we looked at the dressers) if you are able and willing to afford it.

We went looking a little more today and I agree with you when you look at the dressers nothing has compaired yet. ?The more we look around the more we are convinced that Romina is the way to go for us. ?I totally agree with you if your able and willing to pay the price it is well worth it. ?The quality is amazing and the furniture is gorgeous!?

  • My husband and I also purchased the Romina Karisma convertible crib and dresser which was displayed at a local store called Baby Love.  I can not wait for it to arrive.  I looked at cribs, changing tables and dressers from so many stores including Belini's but nothing compared to Romina's solid wood, quality and design!
  • Has your Romina crib arrived yet?  Are you happy with the look and construction?  Any funny smells that would lead you to believe it is off-gassing?  I'm so early preggo that I'm jumping the gun in thinking about cribs, but I'm curious!

     Thanks!

  • We looked at it as well and I still love the furniture but my DH doesn't like the steep prices but I want something that will last and is made well.
  • Hello!  I am proud to say I fell in love with the Nerva Conv. crib 2+ years ago and talked my very reluctant hubby into buying it for our first born.  We got it in Bruno Rosso along with the 3 drawer changer/dresser.  They are as beautiful now as they were out of the box !  Solid and gorgeous.  Absolutely no regrets or buyer's remorse for once... There is no question he'll have it at least through college!  My son did test out new teeth on crib rail so buy a rail protector if you wish to keep yours pristine.  Kidco makes a wide enough one, just cut it to size and follow the directions  Hope this helps.

On second thought my one regret is that I probable won't be able to convince my hubby to buy another set for our newborn daughter :o

  • Hi all....we also bought Romina's Nerva line and its gorgeous.  When you go to convert the crib though, know it may not accommodate a box spring - we purchased it when it first came out and bought the conversion kit back then...we just converted a few weeks ago and now have a useless box spring sitting in my husband's office...

apparently, they are creating a new version of the conversion kit that will help, but we haven't seen it yet.  they had a "box spring replacement" thing that in our opinion, wasn't great.

love love love the furniture, just trying to spare anyone else the agita we had when we discovered our newly purchased mattress/box spring wouldn't fit...
