Grr... anxious about potential job

I had a 2nd round interview last week for a position that would be practically perfect for me. Perfect to the point that I have been day-dreaming about giving notice at my current job. They said I would hear back about next steps "no later than Monday". Well, it's Monday at 4:15pm and I still haven't heard anything. I'm trying to focus on my work and stay positive, but I keep thinking the worst. They told me right away during the first round that they wanted me back (literally, during the interview), but now it's been almost a week and nothing, and they emphasized that they want to move quickly. Even the headhunter I found this through isn't answering his phone. At this point I'm thinking they don't want me, but I just want to know already, even if it's a no go, just so I can get on with my disappointment and move on. Grrrr. End vent.

    Sending good vibes your way. The same kind of thing happened to me and I got the job. They were just going through internal processes. Hang in there!

    Remember this is a really big time for vacations so it's possible someone who this needs to get through is out of the office and that's why you aren't hearing anything.  Stay positive!!
