A few months ago I had a pulmonary embolism, and today at my annual lady exam I was told that an IUD is the only form of non-permanent birth control available to me. It seems in the past that I've only read negative things about IUDs, and honestly, my IRL friends and their acquaintences have only negative things to say, too. So, have any of you lovely ladies out there had an IUD and liked it?
Re: Anyone have anything good to say about IUDs?
This. I love Mirena and have had no problems so far. AF is still around, but about every 1.5 months and super light and short. I didn't gain any weight and everyone I know that has it, loves it. I was still bf'ing and didn't want to take the pill so it was about my only option. I have heard of some people having pain after having it put in, but my was fine.
Unfortunately no. I'm going in today to have my Mirena removed for the second time in10 months. The first time it came out on it's own. This time it's out of the uterus and "free floating". No idea when it happened and DH and I have been very busy lately so i'm crossing my fingers no BFP
On the upside, it was great not having to worry about taking a pill, and a couple other friends of mine who have it say it's been great.
