DH and I LOVE this stroller. But we can't seem to justify spending $679 on it, partially because a lot of the price goes towards the bassinet and let's be honest, with out LO coming in Feb, by the time daily walks happen, LO will not want to be laying down/sleeping in the bassinet part. We do LOVE that you can add on a seat for around $100 and then have a double stroller.
Do you have this stroller or do you know of anyone who loves it/hates it? Thanks for your time, as always! ![]()
Re: UPPAbaby Vista - am I crazy?!
Honest reply ....
Yes that is crazy. My stroller for DS was around 250 and i loved it, but endded up not wanting to use it b/c it was bulky and i prefered umbrella strollers. Moral of the story, You aren't sure what will work for your family yet. That's a lot of money to spend on a stroller when there ae 100's of strollers that are very siilar to it out there for a lot let money.
The extra seat for a 100 is still kind of out there, it's good to look forward but then your stroller that you will use for 2 years maybe would be $800... and at this point you arent sure how your growing family will be. We had planned to have another child within a year or two and that didnt work out for us, now DS is almost 5 and we are having twins.... so you never know what to expect.
If you love love love the stroller.... that's you and you will want it. My advice would be to look around see if there is anything comprable for a better price. But i prob wouldn't have felt that way my 1st time arounf either.
There was one almost exactly like that but a double stroller at Burlington Coat Factory .... and i only looked at doubles so they may have had more options it was like 250 ... Just look around first
Have it. Love it. I got it with DS when it was a brand new model. That said, I lived in Boston and needed an urban assault stroller because I walked everywhere, rarely driving. If you're in a suburban area where you drive more often or will use your stroller mainly for mall/zoo, etc. rather than walking for errands there are lots of Uppa-looking strollers for less. I don't think the stroller is for everyone, I guess is what I'm saying.
The rumble seat is a pretty cool option, but I don't like how both children have to be inward facing to use it. It would be nice if you had your babies very close together in age. DS will be 3.5 when LO is born, so I'm getting the PiggyBack for him to stand on. The basinette won't be used in outdoor winter walks, but I used it as a moses basket/floor basinette for DS in the early, early weeks in our room. I highly recommend the car seat adapter, I used it that way for at least 7 months, it was great.
Women on the Nurseries and Baby Gear page tend to be big fans of the Uppa and post deals/coupons for different sites. They also have lots of good Uppa alternatives (especially BabyJogger strollers) and other info.
A possibility was born the day you were born and will live as long as you live.

I just bought it back in January and LOVE it. I wish I would have bought it in the first place, but like you, at the time I couldn't justify the price. After having DS for over a year I realized it IS worth the price given how much we use a stroller. We were TTC #2 at the time so being able to buy the rumble seat did help justify the price. I have had a Chicco Cortina, Bumbleride Flyer, Maclaren Quest, and a Bob Revolution and the Cortina and Bumbleride don't even compare to the Vista, honestly. The way the Vista drives and handles and the comfort and flexibility of the seat far surpass those models. I do still like to use the Bob for walks/jogs and the Maclaren for quick trips now that DS is older. Honestly I wish I would have just got the Vista to start out with and then a less expensive umbrella-type stroller once DS got to 1-1.5 yrs old.
Someone else did have a good point that if it's the style of the Vista that you like there are several less expensive options out there. I believe Britax makes one, Kolcraft Contours, Quinny, etc.
I too am really in love with this stroller. Living in a big city and not having a car, I know the stroller will be our primary mode of transporting LO so I want to be sure to get a good one!
Friends offered us their crib this weekend and some other items so maybe without that expense we can justify it? It's definitely on our short list as an awesome urban stroller.
DH would absolutly kill me if I bought the Vista, he can't come close to justifying the amount of $ on it, unfortunately for me!
