Teething, you will not defeat me

No matter how hard you try. DD was previously a happy baby who slept through the night with no problems. The past week or so, she's been very fussy, is hard to put down, and isn't sleeping well.

I called the doctor and was given some recommendations (including Hyland teething tabs and gel) that I'm hoping will work. I can't tell which ones are coming in now, but they are far worse that the top and bottom two. The nurse said it's probably the incisors, which are much harder to push through for some reason.

I cannot wait for this to be over; poor DD is miserable.

Re: Teething, you will not defeat me

  • The incisors are def. worse. I'd try Motrin before the teething tablets - since they are homeopathic, they aren't subject to the same manufacturing requirements as stuff regulated by the FDA and the dose in each tablet is not as closely controlled. There have been cases supposedly where the dose was way too high and kids got sick.

FWIW, tylenol does nothing for my son and Motrin works wonders.

  • Uch, we are going through the same thing right now, only we are still working on the top two.  I definately am not looking forward to what is to come with teething.  I had given DS tylenol this weekend and it did seem to help some, but last night it did nothing.  I found the poor baby this morning at 3am in his crib crying and chewing away on his sophie the giraffe.  I think I am going to swing by and pick up some motrin on my way to pick him up from daycare this afternoon.
