haha...I saw that. THAT is what makes you a bad mother? oh lord. Another one said she doesn't use cart covers but wipes it down and people will judge that? That's being smart. I always wipe down carts when it's just me using them.

That makes me laugh too. Petty things like that crack me up. The judgement is unreal and I think using one or not using one does not make you a bad mother.

And now there's a big discussion on 6-9 about it.

I'll wipe down the handle because he likes to chew on things but there is no way I'm going to be able to sterilize everything he ever comes in contact with. So I'm not going to spend money on a cart cover.

I would get a cart cover but honestly I have seen people just throw it back in the car and use it the next time. What about washing them? Then what's the point of using them? A lysol wipe does a better job.

All I can think is that my brothers and I all managed to survive childhood without a single grocery cart every being sanitized, and cart covers weren't invented yet. I will admit that I roll my eyes when I see them, and I'm quite the germaphobe.

Were there even things like Lysol wipes/sprays? I remember Comet was used in the house a lot. And now people use "greener" products or less harsh?

I've used them but not for the cleanliness factor. The hooks on them for toys are wonderful when LO is going through the 'test gravity at every opportunity' phase.

The amount of judgment between mothers is ridiculous.

i loved my cart cover when avery was younger, she often fell asleep on the drive, so i would put the cart cover on and lay her down in the seat part, it was awesome for that fact alone

unless you wash those things frequently, they are a breeding ground for germs. NASTY.

think about it, you are at a store with food & a child. Food and/or food juices are most definitely making their way onto that cover at some point. Then you have the kids saliva, etc.

people are ridiculous these days. Not ALL germs are bad! Kids need to be exposed to germs FFS!!
