February 2011 Moms

I finally switched sides of the bed.

I am so used to being on the "inside" of the room, meaning DH is closer to the door in our bed. I have always been on DH's left side (five years now)  When we moved to our new house our bedroom is set up so that I can either be on his left side OR on the "inside".  I chose inside but regretted it right after getting my BFP.

I have stumbled over shoes, blankets, dogs (ok only one dog) and other things every time I have to go to the bathroom at night.  Today I was finally fed up and totally switched up our pillows and switched our night stands.

I guess I have no other reason to write all this other than the fact I thought I would share TMI of my life here.  Anyone else rather sleep on the "inside" of the room but just can't handle it anymore?

Re: I finally switched sides of the bed.

  • I just wanted to share that I'm actually the opposite.  I sleep closer to the door and on the right side of the bed.  At our last house I had to chose so I chose to sleep on the right, it was definitely a little awkward but I think it would have felt weirder to not be on my side of the mattress.

  • I sleep closer to the door because when my daughter was born, it was easier for me to get to her if she needed me. But I HATE that I have to trip over my DH's crummy piles of clothing on the floor now in the middle of the night to get to the bathroom!!

  • I was on the outside and a few weeks ago switched to the inside so that I can sleep on my left side and still face my dh (though i often turn to my right anyhow). it's mostly a hip pain thing. the bathroom is far either way. we haven't switched the nightstands yet, but we probably should.

That funny because my DH had me switch sides so that he could still snuggle with me while i was on my left side. I hate my new side! And I don't like sleeping on my side either, my hip and shoulder always hurt.

  • I sleep on DH's left regardless of how the room is set up
