  • Hi there,

I'll be 14 weeks on monday.  My husband is leaving the 31st for Coast Guard boot camp for 8 weeks.  He will miss all the fun stuff!  Finding out what it is, feeling it move..etc.  I wont find out where he will be stationed until week 5...this is our first baby and we've never lived away from here.  Im very nervous about the whole thing and wish I knew it was a guarantee that we would be here especially with our entire families all living close.  Needless to say, im struggling.

  • Hi My DH is leaving at the end of the month for a year deployment to Korea.  He is in the Army.  We knew him leaving was bound to happen at some point.  He will miss the end of the pregnancy and the birth.  He will take leave probably in March.  This is the hand we have been dealt and we just need to deal with it. It sucks, but I have a lot of support from my family and friends to help me get through this.

  • i'm due feb 25 and DH's unit is supposed to deploy sometime in feb, fortunately theyre going to let him go on one of the last flights...hopefully our little peanut makes its appearance before DH has to head out. i'm sad that he's going to miss the first year or so of our baby's life, but thats the military for you.

  • I am a Navy wife due Feb 21.  DH leaves sometime at the end of the year so he will miss the first three mo of LOs life but I have accepted it.  I don't get worked up over military surprises, I've learned to roll with the punches.

ETA:  There are rumors that my DH will be flown home for the birth as well but I am not setting my hopes on it, he would be allowed to take his daddy leave before he goes back but I almost rather he just stay gone the whole time.

  • I feel much better knowing there are other wives out there going thre the same things and happy to know i havea few of you to talk to im new to all this army stuff and this will be the first time i will be away from DH for more then a week
  • My DH is Navy, I'm ex Navy. My DH will have to go on small underways from here til January, either one or two night or a full week each month til Jan. He just got back from a 2 1/2 month underway 2 weeks ago, and he was on a 6 month deployment before that. After January, He'll be in for a good little while, til we PCS in March '12.

See if you can have family come stay with you right before the baby's due til you DH is scheduled to come home. None of my family could do it (We're in San Diego and ALL our family is in FL), so I'm grateful we had our church family to come and help me when I needed it.

  • Hi!
I am a Navy wife and due on Feb 3. My husband left for training right after I conceived and got back around the end of my first trimester. It was scary having him gone because I had an early miscarriage earlier this year.

This is  also our first baby. We are both having a difficult time accepting it. If you want to chat sometime I'm always here.  :)
