TTC After a Loss 6 Months+

Need Advice (PG and low progesterone)

I hope you guys don't mind me asking here instead of PGAL since I haven't even made it over there yet.  I got a BFP on Friday (well that is when my DH finally saw it) and got blood drawn.  My OB didn't call me so when I went in today for my second draw I decided to stop by medical records.  At 18 DPO my beta was 54 and progesterone was 4.53.  I won't have my 20 DPO results until tomorrow.

My last BFP, my progesterone level was fine - like 22 or something so I am not taking supplements or had a concern for it before.

So... am I just S.O.L. and having another miscarriage?  Should I call my OB and try to get on progesterone?  Thoughts?

Re: Need Advice (PG and low progesterone)

  • I don't think you are S.O.L, but I would think your doctor would have called in a rx for Progesterone right away. Are you taking them now?

I'm sorry you are going through this, I hope the number is much better tomorrow.

  • Thanks Allison.  I am not taking progesterone.  I will call him now.  I'm pissed they didn't call me on Friday.  I could have been on it all weekend.  I was trying to be laid back this time around, but now I wish I would have been more proactive.  This process sucks.

  • I agree with not being S.O.L.  I hope you were able to get your OB on the phone and get that prescription.  GL!
  • Well, he called back but he isn't putting me on progesterone.  He wants to see my results from today - tomorrow - and go from there.  I'm irritated.  I'm going to try to stay positive, but come on world!  Ugh.

  • holy crap balls!  Dr called again.  He decided to try and get my results today.  HCG is now 151.  I didn't get my progesterone tested again, so first thing tomorrow the nurses are going to call and figure out what supplement to put me on.  I hope it is not to late.  I'm trying to be cautiously excited, but my HCG levels haven't been this high since my ectopic.  If you are willing, please send any T&Ps to me.  I'm going to go crazy.

  • Good luck hon.

  • Good luck and make sure you stay on top of your doctor.  You are you best advocate and it's important for your doc to listen to your concerns and proactive to ease your mind.  That's what you are paying him for and if he's not doing that, find another doc.  I wish you the best and sounds like things are going to be alright.

  • I'm so sorry your Dr. isn't doing his best to help you and LO.  I agree with PPs - you are your own best advocate.  I'll be thinking of you and sending T&Ps your way.

  • Will keep you in my thoughts. I'm surprised your dr didn't mention progesterone supplements. I would call the ob and ask about it.
