morning Ladies i was told to call the womans hospital of texas this morning to see what time to go in. I am still waiting for them to call me any one else have to wait forever?
I had this happen with another hospital...it just means that they're full and waiting to discharge. Most hospitals discharge around 11:00...so hopefully they'll call you shortly to go in!
If you're referring to L&D because you're being induced...there's a certain number of rooms that they have to keep empty for emergency delivery (i.e. my water broke and active labor). Then there's a set amount of rooms for induction and that's based on priority (first: high risk) and then goes from there based on availability.
I was planning on being induced with my son and was told to call at 7am to get a room. I called every hour till almost 6 that night with no luck getting in. It was frustrating because they kept telling me not to eat and we might have something soon. I ended that day mad and hungry and felt like I wasted an entire day being miserable. Luckily, the next day I went into labor and they had no choice but let me in! Good luck, I know how annoying it is to wait it out!
I was told they have been super busy this summer (can't plan babies!). My OB reassured me that for medically necessary inductions, they typically get everyone in on time. For non-medical inductions, it is about 97% on time.
Re: Womans Hospital wait???
Ditto Lisa - if you are going in for a non-medical induction, they will only take you if they have an open bed. Sorry you got pushed an extra day!
