What types of work at home jobs are out there? I'm finding it impossible to find a reputable work at home position other than selling Avon. I'm an office person; where do I find a WAH office position? Any help is appreciated!
Thanks Ladies!

My job let me go when they found out I was pregnant and I would like to be able to stay home with my baby for as long as possible. Definitely would save on childcare costs. I have the whole set-up to work at home and I don't want to waste time with scams. I'm also more likely to find a work at home while pregnant because other companies are not thrilled with the idea of someone being home for 2 months right after they're hired. I'm not one of those people looking for easy money (doesn't exist), I'm just looking for a way to work from home.

Taking care of a baby is a full-time job. I really can't think of anything that would produce significant income that wouldn't require you to have childcare.

Any legit WAH position is going to require that you have full time daycare. Many ladies on this board WAH, but they all have full time childcare. It's simply not feasible to care for a child and work simultaneously.

Well, as said, companies aren't going to pay you to watch your child. And be realistic - having a child is a FULL TIME job. Sure, when they are infants, they sleep a lot and you could technically work. But that stage actually doesn't last all that long.
And now - at 20 months? NO WAY could I work and watch my son at the same time.
As to your qeustion, though, the reality of "real" WAH office jobs is that most people come by them one of two ways:
1- their career path. Some careers (i.e. IT jobs, graphic artists, etc) are simply the kind of job that can be done from "anywhere" and are often WAH jobs.
2- their company. Many people work for a company for years, show their worth, and are eventually able to turn their office job into a WAH job.

I work from home for aetna. The do hire for certain positions where you will start WAH right away. You can check out their website for job postings and select yes for the telework option.

Jobs that allow you to work from home and NOT pay for childcare don't exist either.
