Hey ladies,
So, I'm feeling really nervous. I've been feeling sporadic sharp twinges in my cervix area since I was driving home from work yesterday. It's happened a number of times, including when I woke up in the middle of the night. I called my ob, and she said I'm too early for incompetent cervix and that if my body was "trying to expel the fetus" there would be a lot of blood and cramping.
Well, I'm not having that. I did check the baby with the doppler, and the heartbeat is going strong. I already have my monthly appointment with my ob tomorrow morning, and she said she will take a look and make sure there's nothing "unusual" going on. Man, and I thought 2nd tri meant I could relax! If anyone has any input, I would be so grateful.
Re: sharp twinges in cervix? anyone?
I was worried also because I get pain and pressure in between my legs. The baby isn't totally out of the pelvis yet and there are lots of nerves etc. So my dr. told me at this point he hears a lot of common complaints. Maybe that is what is going on with you too. I would trust your dr. and since you have an appt. tomorrow I am sure you will get some more answers. I also had this with my daughter and she was born at 41 weeks 3 days

You are probably describing, um, "lightning crotch". Not a scientific term, mind you, but pretty darn accurate.
This is my 3rd pg...its something I have felt all 3 times. No worries!
Has lightning crotch started this early for you? If so, that's great to know! Thanks!
