Briana and Brianna. Would you pronounce them the same or differently? I am asking for a friend b/c she wants to name her daughter a specific one of these names but I don't think the way she wants to spell it is going to be pronounced the way she wants.

I would say Briana is pronunced with "ana" at the end and the other with "Anna". Does that make sense?

Ok. Thanks for the input ladies! She wants to name her Bre-on-a but wanted to spell it Brianna but wasn't sure if people would call her bre-anna with that spelling. (I know I would if I saw is spelled like that)

My name is Riana and I have a great friend named Briana. (both pronounced with the "on-a" end.) People mispronounced our names ALL the time. I simply correct them and move on. However, in school, we went by R and B to ease the confusion. Noone mispronounced our nicknames!
