  Do the bottom portion first it should fit about 3.5 cups of mix, cook for about 8 mins then grease and flour the top and it will be about 3 cups.  Bake both for 55 mins!  HTH!

  I baked the top and bottom at the same time. Around 45 minutes or whatever the bundt time was on the box. Insert a toothpick and if it comes out clean then it's done.

  I usually do them separately, I found that the top cooks much faster than the bottom half. I just follow the package directions for whichever cake I'm making.

  Because it is a dark pan, we cook both at the same time at 325 for 60 minutes.   It took 1.5 boxes of yellow cake mix.  Came out great!

  I made DD's yesterday for the party today. I think it depends on which brand you use for how much you need. Because my SIL only needed one box and I needed more than that using Pillsbury cake mix. I just filled the bottom until about 1 inch from the top and cooked 10 min. Then I added the top and baked another 35 min. But again depending on your oven, just keep checking it. Mine came out perfect! I would say it was about 1 1/2 boxes with Pillsbury mix. GL.

  Oh and the cupcake liner shell was a cinch to make!
