DH and I just can't agree!

It's so frusterating! We're having twin boys, and he either likes M names (which I don't like because our last name starts with M) or extremely ethnic names (he's portugese, and our last name is very portugese).
He likes:
Michael M (I know way too many people with the same name - our last name is really common in New England)
Armando M too ethnic - "Mondo" for short - another M
Emanuel M too ethnic - "Manny" for short - another M
Paul - eh, I just don't like it - "Paulie" for short - all I can think is the Sopranos, and I don't want our son to be an old Italian man in a jogging suit.
What did you do when you and your DH just couldn't decide? At this point, I feel like putting "A" and "B" for their first names

Jana's name was going to be Elizabeth, but we couldn't agree on the nickname. I wanted Ella; he wanted Lizzie. We hated each others'. So I had played around with the thought of boy/girl twins and liked Jana/Jonah. I then heard Jana on the Duggars and remembered I had liked it. I mentioned it, we put Elizabeth in the middle, and we were gold.
I agree about M.M.
It's so tough! My DH and I have been having the hardest time deciding on a name... he's vetoed pretty much every name I love and all that's left are names that I think are nice, but nothing exciting.
Keep working at it and you'll find a way to compromise and find two names that "fit" for your family. Maybe suggest that the super ethnic names be used as middle names? I also agree with not picking names that start with the same letter as your last name... it's a bit much

We each wrote a list of our own top ten.
then we passed the lists back and forth. We each had to cross a name off the other person's list and a name off our own list.
That way we narrowed down our own favourites and the names ont he otherperoson's lists we most liked.
Once we had it down to a top three or four, we stopped and waited until baby was born.

this. It's stressful when you can't agree on names. DH and I have the worst time finding names we both like, let alone love. Keep trying! You still have time to find something.
Too ethnic? Hmm, that was a strong statement.
What about allowing him to choose the middle name and allow it to be "ethnic" and you choose the first name?
