High risk pregnancy next time?

Could be a stupid question...

My pregnancy with DD went totally normally, by the book fine until two days before she was born (37w3d). I had minimal movement, so my Dr. sent me for an ultrasound where it was discovered that I had less than 3cm of fluid. Within the day we made the decision to induce because of how low it was... almost NONE at all. So, because of this, will she consider me high risk for my next pg?

Re: High risk pregnancy next time?

  • I'm not sure, considering you only had an issue at the end, and were at term.   I've already been told that if I decide to get pregnant one last time, that I will be on bed rest and monitered every week.   I would ask your doctor.

  • I had a similar situation.  I went into pre-term labor at 33 weeks.  We were able to stop it with meds and strict bed rest for 2 weeks.  At 35 weeks I hadn't felt him move all day and went to the hospital where we discovered the amniotic fluid was less than 3cm.  They started the induction right away and my baby boy arrived the next day at 35 weeks 1 day.  I asked my doctor if I would be high risk and he said that I would not be but that I would be monitored much more closely, but it had more to do with the pre-term labor than the oligohydramnios.
  • I honestly don't know if this would make you high risk but honestly I would want to have the doctors watching me closer in this type of situation so being considered somewhat high risk wouldn't be bad, even though your next pregnancy may be totally different.
