It seems like alot of people are pulled out of work early due to preterm labor, or elevated blood pressure. Anyone pulled out of work early due to back pain or just plain old maternal exhaustion? If so, when?
I'm 26 weeks now, and I'm really having a hard time moving around the office. I am the busiest provider, and I'm literally having a hard time walking around and keeping up with my schedule (a new patient every 15 minutes). I'm not ready to go out now, but I can't see being 36 weeks and keeping up this pace. My OB has already told me when I'm ready to go down to part time or be taken out, just let her know and she'll write for it.
Just wondering what others have done. Thanks!
Re: anyone pulled out of work NOT due to PTL or PIH?
my OB told me to expect to leave work between 24-28 weeks, even if all was going fine --- b/c he simply didn't want me working past then and RISKING ptl.
I left work at 27w ... i was feeling fine- no issues- but he wrote me out for "risk of PTL"... which all twin pg's have.
I was so glad i had that time to relax and do pretty much nothing. I carried to 38w with no signs of labor - it was great.
I had a lot of BHs - so while it's not technically PTL, my doctor pulled me out when I asked at 32 weeks.

I do know of a NP who posts here who worked up until 36 wks and delivered at 38 weeks.
I've talked to my boss and COO of the company and they both said I can take as much time off as I need before the babies come, and then 12-13 wks after the babies come, which is very generous of them. If I didn't have such a tight patient schedule I could do it, but even if I slow down, all I'm doing is leaving work late because of the patients will wait. I've asked them to lighten my schedule, and they said no. In fact, they said they need us to see more patients, so started double booking me last week, and increasing our patient appointments. 3 out of 4 days I didn't get a lunch break, and all 4 days I stayed 45 minutes later just to finish seeing patients.
I'm thinking 32 wks may be my magic number
I'm 34wks 4days and still working....Its getting really hard for me to get around and I'm so tired but I am trying to hang in there as long as I can. OB said that everyone is doing good and she is not inducing me until Sept 7th so I am going to try to keep working for 2wks more..I hope I make it that long....
Good luck with everything...You can do it....
I am still working..i have a desk job. My feet are very swollen by end of the day and i'm very sore but i will only have 12 wks off when they come so i don't want to waste the time being home without them.
In saying that..i'm prob going to go out at 34-35 wks. I have had a feeling they will come at 36wks. It really depends on what's going on at my 34wk appt. If they think they'll come soon then i'll got out. If all is holding strong still i'll continue until i can't take it anymore.
