when did they start saying words? My LO just says Mama, dada, and other random babbles. My husband is getting a little worried that he's not saying any real words yet. It doesn't help that we have two other neighbor boys within 7 weeks of our LO that are both saying words. Were you worried at all that your LO didn't say any words at 12 months?

Re: If your LO wasn't talking at 12 months
Try not to worry about it yet. DS didn't say much at that age either. I worried about it and it was all for no reason. DS has several words now.
It'll come.
Addy says "mama" "dada" "elmo" "hi" "bye" "uh oh" and some other random things ... but she doesn't consistently say anything really. She still babbles a lot. I'm not too worried honestly.
Like brideofscowboy said It'll come!
The only word DD says consistently is Bubba (our cat). Every once in a while we'll get a ba-ba (bottle) & for like one day she was saying da-da. Other than that, just a whole lot of babbling, squealing, etc. Oh & her saying Bubba is new, she just started it maybe 2 weeks ago. It's so funny though because we have 2 cats & she calls them both Bubba, as well as anything else. She was calling DH Bubba this morning, LOL!
I wouldn't worry though, like pp said if LO goes to 18 months & still isn't saying anything, then I'd bring it up to the pedi.
