Baby Names

juniors, credit reports, cousins

Ok so I am not really for the whole "junior" thing at all. But I have always loved the name Anthony and I know I want my sons middle name to be Joseph (middle name is a family name). My boyfriend has a cousin and an unclke whose names are Anthony Joseph (father and son). If I named my son Anthony Joseph, they would have the same exact name (last name too). They live in Minnesota and we live in GA. Do you think this would effect his credit report later in life? I wanted to name my child Anthony Joseph before I even know my boyfriend had cousins with that name!!!

 HELP!!

Re: juniors, credit reports, cousins

  • It should not affect his credit report.  They will all have different DOB, SSN, etc.

  • There are also probably a billion other Anthony Joseph etcs. in the world.

This is actualy not true.  My mother and my sister have the same first and last names (middle is different).  They obviously have different SS#s and DOBs, but there have been several things on both of their credit reports that are actually the other persons.

But, then again, (at one time) they DID have the same mailing address - maybe it was more the first/last/address that made it "easier" to have those things mixed up.

  • My DH is a junior and has had a few problems with his credit report because his fathers information shows up and does not match up with the information my DH gave (for job applications, etc).  They live in the same state now but did not during the time that the stuff is mixed up for.  And for some reason, he has had a really, really difficult time trying to get the credit companies to fix the mistakes.

Maybe it is the address.... I have a cousin with the same name and for a while in the same city and we have never had a problem.  Either way, it should be fairly easy to correct since they are not valid.

  • Why not skip the whole confusion altogether and go with Joseph Anthony?

  • Don't do it! My brother is named after my dad and they have had nothing but problems. My brother has credit problems and credit companies look for him and send bills to my dad. They live near eachother and have problems at local businesses- Video rentals places rent the movies under the wrong name causing the wrong person to be charged for any late charges. Hospital charges being added to the wrong person. These are all things that should not happen, but they do and cause a huge pain in the butt for them.  We used my husbands first name as my sons middle name, he really wanted his son to be named after him and I didn't want issues in the future.
  • Why not use whichever one is just a little more important to you this time, and save the other one for the next son?! That way both of their names hold special meaning for you.
