trying not to freak out

but I am. I haven't felt anything with this baby yet.  I felt flutters with DD around this time and I figured the second would be earlier.  I haven't exactly been a stickler to the pregnancy "rules" this time around and now I'm worried that something's wrong :(
"Hello, babies. Welcome to Earth. It's hot in the summer and cold in the winter. It's round and wet and crowded. At the outside, babies, you've got about a hundred years here. There's only one rule that I know of, babies. God damn it, you've got to be kind." - Kurt Vonnegut

Re: trying not to freak out

  • I was just at the docs this morning and I mentioned to the nurse that I expect to feel movement sooner this time and she quickly shook her head and said that that is not always the case.  She says the uterus stretches out so much quicker allowing more room around the baby with each additional pregnancy and when the baby still has plenty of room to kick and stretch you won't feel movement as soon as you would when your uterus is smaller and tighter with a first pregnancy.  Totally makes sense to me but honestly that is the first time I heard that!

  • I got told at around 13 weeks that it looks like I might end up with an anterior placenta and I shouldn't expect to feel movement early.

  • I felt fluters a couple of times about 4 days ago and haven't felt anything since. I'm not letting it freak me out because I know it is still early.

  • With my first pregnancy, I felt flutters at 14wks. With my second pregnancy, I didn't feel anything til 18 weeks! I've felt a few flutters this time around, but I only really feel them when my Big Man On Campus cat lays across my stomach and crushes my belly, or when I wake up in the morning and I'm on my back.
