I'm finally starting to get a little belly. I ordered
these maternity jeans early on and they're really cute but I think I should probably consider expanding my options to accommodate my expanding waistline. For those of you who have done this before or are ahead of me already, is it better to go straight to maternity clothes or to buy some regular clothes up a size or two? I was thinking that maybe since there's only a month or less of summer left, that I could probably get away with regular shorts in a larger size. Any help would be appreciated
Re: Starting to grow -- will need some new clothes soon
So true for me too. For me, I am in day 2 of demi-panel maternity jeans right now and wearing my regular tops (especially longer tunic-style tops) I got by a long time before needing maternity shirts last time and expect something similar this time. Maternity bottoms seem to be necessary first. I wouldn't buy clothes 2 sizes bigger right now...just wear your regular tops that still work.
A possibility was born the day you were born and will live as long as you live.
I would buy a little at a time. That way you can make sure it will fit you at different stages. Your body will change a lot from when we first start showing to the end when we are blimps. I went shopping the other day and bought a pair of cargo pants, a cute maxi dress, jeans and a couple of cute tops that I could layer with as the weather turns off cooler. Oh, and some sleep bras and 2 bras that do not have underwire. I am thinking that will probably get me thru Fall and then when I am really big and uncomfortable I will probably go to the full panel and will need larger things.
Also, I will say that my feet grew a half size during my last trimester too. So remember that you might need new shoes for fall and winter.
I have some demi, medium and full panels. It's crazy, but I find the full panel most comfortable...even this early on! I just love the security it offers, plus I am humungo by the end of the day! haha
