NBR - Home inspection question (if you've sold)

Our buyers had an inspection done on Tuesday, and I haven't heard anything back from them yet.  We agreed to close on 9/7, so there isn't a lot of time to get things done.  I've asked our realtor to follow-up with their realtor, so hopefully we'll hear something today.  If you've sold a house, how long did it take to get the results from the home inspection?

Re: NBR - Home inspection question (if you've sold)

  • I don't remember exactly, but I know it was within a day or two. It behooves the buyer to get back with you ASAP to ensure you have time to make the necessary repairs before closing. I also remember going back and forth a couple of times about what we would and would not repair.

I'd definitely press your realtor to get some answers if you don't hear back today. GL!

  • We got them within 2 two days, so I'd definitely bug them to get answers.

  • I think 2-3 days is standard. Hope you get them soon. The wait is nerve wracking! GL!
  • My stepdad was a home inspector, and he was very diligent about getting his inspections typed up and faxed!!!  I think he would usually have it done within 24-48 hours following the inspect.

  • It took about 4 or 5 days, and we were under a pretty tight timeline too.  We only had 2 weeks to turn the repairs around - which looks like it's more than you guys have.

They should be able to get it to you today. Hopefully there aren't many repairs!!

  • I think it was about 4-5 days for us too.  There should be a date in Section 16 of the offer that indicates the date that they have to have the Necessary Repair Request to you.

Hopefully you'll get the info soon!  I know how nerve wracking the whole situation is!

Yikes, it says August 27.  I even read that, but I guess I misunderstood what that date meant.  I really hope we don't have to wait another week.

I doubt it will take that long.  Ours took up until that date but that was because our buyers waited until really late to schedule their inspections and they were jerks ;-)

  • Okay, they must be lurking on the Nest, because I got the inspection about an hour ago.  Stick out tongue  Our realtor said it wasn't that bad, so that's nice to hear...
