does your humidifier do this?

our humidifier that's in DD's room, a Vicks brand from Target, puts this weird white dust on everything. It also feels really weird to the touch. I have to dust pretty much every day! This is our 3rd humidifier and it works great, except for the dust.

    I'm a singer so we use a humidifier pretty religiously in the winter and I've never noticed any dust like you mention. It sounds like it might be hard water deposits left over after the water evaporates? Have you tried using filtered water instead of tap to see if that helps? Also, are you cleaning it regularly?

    We have a Crane Frog and I have noticed the same thing, it is mostly on the humidifier itself and the small table we have it sitting on.  We use filtered water, and replace the internal filter once a month, so I am not sure what is causing it.

    ours does not have a filter, we probably don't clean it enough

    My mom said that when we were little she hated using a humidifier because it left that white dust all over everything. Then a friend of hers told her to try distilled water and she said that she didn't have that issue anymore.

    We have the Crane Penguin humidifier and just use tap water and haven't had a problem with white dust, but maybe our water has a lower salt content or something?
