8 week old moms come in

How long does your child sleep through the night. My daughter is still only sleeping every 3 hours.

Re: 8 week old moms come in

  • Thankfully - 7 hours for the past week and he is breastfed.

  • About 7 hrs until he eats and then 3-4 after that.  A LOT better than DD who was still religously waking every 3 hrs at this point

  • I am right there with ya!  My little guy is up every 3 hours (sometimes every 2!).  I feel like I must be doing something wrong.  Any suggestions?  I am sooo tired.
  • 6-7 hours, eats, then sleeps for 3-4 more.  I feel very fortunate!!
  • Must be a Nebraska thing!
  • 4-6 as of the last week or so. before it was 2-3 hrs

  • 4-4.5 hrs. He must still have days/ nites mixed up bc he will go 5-6 hrs during the day. Im waking him up now in the day to try to flip his schedule.
  • She was consistently doing 6-8 hour stretches, and then out of the blue went back to 4-5 hour stretches. Just last night she did 7, so maybe we're back on track. Either way, I know I'm lucky to be getting even 4 hours at a time.

  • Well, she is 7 weeks, but she is sleeping from 9-4, eat, then sleep until 9.  She does well!

  • DD sleeps 7 hours, up to eat, then another 3 hours of sleep. My problem is getting her to bed before midnight!

This sounds a lot like my LO!  Sometimes she will go as much as eight hours at a stretch, but getting her down before 11:00 takes some doing.  :)

  • Still every 2 - 3 hours. It's torture!
  • She's been mostly sleeping through the night lately but, that's not the norm.  Ds was a terrible sleeper.  They're all different.  What if you try cluster feeding for a few hours right before your dd goes to bed?  If you fed her every hour for 3 or 4 hours she might let you sleep a bit longer.

  • We have 3 STTN nights this week. Her other schedule is 9:30-4ish and then 4:30-7ish

  • He used to do 5 hours then two more 3 hour stretches before the 6 week growth spurt. Just the past 3 days he's been going to bed about 830 and sleeping til 130. Then, it's every 2 hours after that until 11. But then he is up alll day until 830. I get a decent amount of sleep at night because of it. but during the day he is a fussy mess and will not sleep. I'm going to have to start engaging him and waking him up before 11 am.

It must be a Nebraska thing. I feel like I am doing something wrong to, I just want some sleep.

  • She goes to bed around 8-9pm and sleeps until 2am. We feed. Then she's back asleep until right around 6am.
  • DS SLEEPS FROM  9:30,10 TILL 6 AM. HE THEN FEEDS AND SLEEPS ANOTHER 2 HOURS. I FEEL SO LUCKY. IT TOOK SOME WORK IN THE BEGINNING BUT I KEPT HIM UP IN THE LATE AFTERNOON AND THAT SEEMS TO WRK FOR US.
  • 7 hours, give or take an hour. I don't do anything special really (and don't think you all are doing anything wrong). Hang in there mamas... your LOs are prolly just more sensitive to an empty tummy... they may grow up to be very "in touch" ppl :)
  • 8-9 hours.  Reading everyone else's makes me not want a second child!
