We ordered ours a couple of weeks ago. While I thought the white or ivory sets would be cute for a girl, we wanted to do the 3 in 1 convertible crib, and I wanted a style that would grow with the baby. We went with an espresso finish in a modern style that would work with either a boy or a girl.
My DH and I talked about it being too early...but his response was...if something happens to this baby, we are going to try again. And if we can't get pregnant again, we agreed that we would adopt. So no harm in getting some of the big purchases out of the way now!

I am waiting to buy another crib until I found out what we we are having...we have all the big stuff already from DS but since the LO's will be sharing a room and we already have black furniture for DS if we are having a girl I want to go with a crib thats a little more "girly" in style

I want to wait until we find out what we're having. after that, everything is fair game
Even though my crib and dresser won't change based on gender, I think we'll wait for this too. Once we know the gender (hopefully baby cooperates) then I feel like I can go gung-ho on the nursery!

with DS we bought it around 24 weeks and it was in the house around 30 weeks.
With this one we are ordering within the next month b/c baby2 is inheriting DS's furniture and we are going to buy him a set that will convert and last with him hopefully. I want to have the room done by nov/dec latest so the move isn't associated with baby
EDD with #4 01-20-14 Proud mama to a boys- 6/17/09 - a girl 2/23/11- and a boy 8/20/12
We bought ours already but only because DH wanted to build them while he was still off for the summer. Our choices also wouldn't have changed based on gender.
We ordered ours when I was 5 weeks. That was way too early in my opinion, but my mom and MIL were paying for it and it was on sale so I was kind of pressured into letting them get it then, when it was cheaper. It's at the store though in layaway so we won't be getting it for at least another 8-10 weeks, at the earliest.
