Can you give teething tablets and tylenol?

DS is teething and I just gave him a couple teething tablets about 15 min ago but it seems to have done nothing and he is crying out in pain and won't even nurse. Can I give Tylenol if I already gave him teething tablets? Not sure if it matters.. Thanks!

  • I have. I felt like the teething tablets eased the pain right then and the tylonol made it last. The teething tablet bottle didn't say anything about not giving other medicine so I guess it's ok? We never had a problem :)

  • I heard you aren't supposed to, but I don't know how accurate that is.  But I err on the side of caution & don't mix the two.  Can you give him a cold wash cloth to chew on or a mesh teether with an ice cube in it??

I was thinking about the wash cloth, too.. suddenly, he seems fine.. little turd! I know his top teeth are right there and just waiting for them to break through but I guess he was maybe being over dramatic like his usual self Wink

  • yes. it's not like the teething tablets contain more acetaminophen. it is safe.
