pubic bone pain

I'm sure it's normal, but the last day or so I've had pubic bone pain, almost like period cramps down there. My lower back has also been really sore. Anyone else experiencing this? Like I said, I'm sure it's normal, but I just haven't felt "right" the last couple days and when you throw in this new symptom, I'm just starting to worry a little.

Re: pubic bone pain

  • Yes, I have had both of those "symptoms." It is my first pregnancy so I don't know if it is normal. I think I have heard lower back pain is, but nothing about the pubic bone. I am not spotting, so I am not worrying about it.

  • I have cramps that radiate into my hips and back, but I don't think its actual bone pain. Maybe its just cramps?

  • I have been experiencing this also.  The back pain just kind of came out of nowhere, lasted a day and then left.  I've had low cramps as well.  I'm just assuming that there is a lot of stretching going on in there.
  • ok, let's clarify what you mean by pubic bone...the actual pubic bone that lies beneath your vagina? or just abdominal pain like cramping. or do you get pain on your pubic bone during cramping? i am confused, but clicked on this post because if it is your actual bone that hurts it can be fixed by a chiropractor. :)

with my first pg i started getting awful pubic bone pain and my ob wrote it off as round ligament pain. it hurt to stand on one foot and sometimes walking. well 6 mos pp when i still had the pain, i mentioned it to my chiro who explained that there is a round disc that kind of connects the two sides of your pelvis down there and very often with pg, it loosens and then the pieces don't fit back together so nicely, kind of like if you rubbed your knuckles against each other without lining them up first. (two fists back to back) it took a few very personal adjustments, but eventually mine went back into place and i fully intend to keep an eye on it this time around so i can get it adjusted promptly.

sorry this is long and possibly tmi, but i would hate to have another mama suffer through their whole pg like i did without knowing! good luck, and whatever it is, i hope it goes away for you!
